more than 29 years
of fishing experience, USCG Fishing Guide offering year round charter
catfishing trips on the Santee Cooper Lakes and rivers in
South Carolina. Lake Moultrie, Lake Marion, Diversion Canal,
Re-Diversion Canal and the Congaree, Wateree, and Santee Rivers.
We fish year round
day and night
trips. Fishing times vary
with season and conditions.
Right now our
winter fishing is bringing in good catches. Our
30 ft Crest HP tri-toon
has a permanent 12
ft. top with cold weather enclosure for your fishing comfort and a
Restroom. We are catching some very heavy fish and have good numbers
of quality fish. Even though the weather can be sporadic
during this time of year, my 29 years plus of fishing experience has
taught me how to predict the fish patterns to put you on quantity of
fish and quality fish. Some of the best
fishing days all year are during this period. This is the time of year
when our enclosed pontoon and a heater really feel good. Winter fishing
on Santee Cooper lakes and rivers in South Carolina is considered to be
the months of December, January and February.

fishing trip
availability dates are limited and we are also taking
reservations for the upcoming spring and summer fishing trips. See our most recent fishing pictures on our Fishing
Report. For past catches over the years

Our
fishing charter includes 8 hours on water, rods, reels, bait, and tackle, fuel
and guide services.
Our
rates are competitive with other charter guides.
Fish cleaning and packing are available but not
included in rates. If you plan to take fish home whole bring a 120-150
qt cooler for transporting them. Shown right is a fishing party that
caught 250 lbs. of catfish November 2011.
You will need to provide your fishing
license to fish, clothing and rain gear for the season, drinks, and
snacks for a day of fishing. You can get your fishing licenses when you
get here.
I can also help you with information about the
Santee Cooper lakes area in
Friends Links .
My fishing style and philosophy
go something like this: I believe fresh bait is the
key to consistency catching fish in all fishing situations. I like to keep
my baits alive until they are ready to put on a hook.
catching bait is not part of your fishing trip. I will have
what I think is the most productive bait for the season on
the boats when you board. I like perch, bream, mullet,
herring, shad, catalpa worms and grasshoppers as my primary
baits but I am always open to try other things that work.
A majority of my
fishing is drifting to catch the big catfish so that's why
we fish from our
30 ft Crest HP tri-toon
when we fish the open waters of Santee, the Diversion Canal,
or the Re-diversion Canal.
At times of the
year when catfishing the Congaree, Wateree, and Santee
rivers are productive, we will catfish from a
20 ft Sea- Ark Jet super jon
boat.
We
are handicap accessible. If
you have a special need for your fishing trip
please call me and I will try to work out whatever is
necessary to make you and your party comfortable.
Ladies
and young people are always welcome.
